nom nom nom

My favorite donuts in all of Seattle from the Daily Dozen Doughnut Factory in Pike Place. Normally I would pair them with some fresh berries from the market, but with it being summertime, it is so packed with tourists that I didn't dare to fight my way through the crowds for them.

Off to Doe Bay Fest early in the morning! I baked a flourless lemon & almond cake (seems kinda weird but made it for my gluten intolerant sister), made a huge green bean, hazelnut & quinoa salad, cooked up lots of extra quinoa, crossed everything off my list and should have everything ready to go. I had planned to be in bed two hours ago - and now look at me!

I have a blogging addiction.

  3. I miss Daily Dozen! Used to go there when I lived in Seattle as well as the Crumpet Shop!  This was before I became/realized I was gluten intolerant.  I made this almond flour lemon cake earlier this summer and added a bit of lavender.  Highly recommend it! You can't even tell it is not made from classic cake batter: http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/2006/02/almond-yogurt-cake.html

PS do I spy Rachel Comey buckles on those boots? :)

  4. Those miniature doughnuts look absolutely scrumptious. I really wish we had a little place that made doughnuts around here! It would be so nice to be within walking distance of a local bakery! However, I have a feeling eating baked goods every day might take a bit of a toll on my waistline after awhile, heh.

  7. I don't think you need to worry about that! Thanks for your sweet words.

The lemon & almond cake actually was quite delicious! I was pretty happy about that. In the future when gluten-free desserts are needed, I will definitely be bugging you about it.

I think the Copan sandals are a great purchase! I love mine and spent almost twice as much as you, but I don't regret it one bit! And, I will definitely go down to Portland again soon. When that happens, I'll let you know.

  9. I used to frequent the Crumpet Shop all the time. I hardly ever make it to that part of town anymore these days, though - so I haven't been in quite a while. Delicious though!

The cake I made turned out to be quite tasty! A touch of lavender would have made it even better. I'll try that one next time, thanks!
