I did it! I bought them. My Rachel Comey collection is slowly growing and it feels pretty nice, I must say. I also found some navy loafers that are pretty similar to Dieppa Restrepos (I think).
they totally look like dieppa restrepos, at least that´s what i thought when i saw them. oh, by the way, hi! i really enjoy your posts and I think you have awesome taste.
are the loafers rachel comey? they are lovely! i have been thinking about going to try on those sandals at frances may (i'm in portland) but i have not done it because i'm pretty positive i wouldn't be able to leave without them. oh, and are those the jcrew ankle toothpick jeans?? looks like we share taste in many a thing!
They're actually vintage Easy Spirits! Ha! Only $5, but I am glad they look more like a Rachel Comey or something fancier.
And yes, that's exactly what jeans those are. I have no idea how you could tell!? Good eye. I've completely ripped them to shreds, though - it's due time I get some new jeans.
ah, i myself am partial to vintage ferragamo wingtips- my favorite pair came from the thrift new in the box for $5 and have lived out a long five years and are somehow still in good shape. i have one lonely pair of rachel comeys that i got on super duper sale (more than 70% off)- they are moss green nubuck slides that look like oxfords but they are backless- i call them my mullet shoes- business in the front, party in the back, hehe
will keep an eye on your awesome blog from now on!
i actually found them at creatures of comfort in nyc- it was one of those chance things- they had one pair left and they were in a size 9 but ran super small and fit my 7.5/8 feet perfectly... i haven't seen anywhere else that carried them. i'm terrible at internet and blog stuff (don't even have a facebook) but i try to say comment when i see something i like or relate to :)
if you're even in portland you should come by the place i volunteer at, golden rule. it is a fantastic wonderland of vintage, local designers, artists, jewelers, and it changes inventory completely every month- goldenrulportland.com if you are so inclined to check i out! our blog is updated pretty frequently to give folks an idea of what's going on.
I plan to visit Portland next month. I have a lot of friends down there to which I owe a visit. I will definitely stop by! I think it would be really fun to start something like that in Seattle with some of my lady friends.
I love your shoes! I've really wanted some Rachel Comey shoes for awhile!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am excited to wear them every day this summer - assuming Seattle ever gets one.
