main squeeze

I am working on something really special for Kai. I am so excited to show it to him (and you, too). We took this picture today so that I can include it in the project.

Yesterday I asked him, "Kai, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Without any hesitation at all he pointed at me and said, "You'll be a spider -" then pointed at himself, "I'll be a man." He said it with so much conviction that I thought, Yes, of course! This makes sense!

  2. Aww he's so funny!
I  know that it must be heartbreaking for you to move away from your boys. i'm hoping that the excitement of all the new things coming your way, will help get you through the difficult goodbyes.
And as sad as i'm sure the boys will be when you leave, they will eventually bounce back- kids always do :) watching my little man bond with his new nanny was bittersweet for me, but I know that that's how it's supposed to go. and even though he doesn't remember the special bond we shared when he was little, I always will. And by keeping in touch and visiting regularly i've made sure that we're still best buddies today :) As i'm sure you and Kai will always be, no matter the distance between you!
I can't wait to see your project, btw..

  3. Children have the best imaginations!  So honest and pure. They truly say the most endearing things sometimes.

You don't know me but I really enjoy your blog. :)

  5. Oh gosh, I know! I feel like I have been writing things down daily that he says - I just never want to forget them. He's so sweet and funny.

Thank you so much for saying so! I love it when all of you mystery readers say hello. :)

  6. Charlotte, you always have the most encouraging things to say! I'm so glad you understand where I'm coming from with all of this. Thank you!

  7. I think If I got to spend time with little ones every day I would do the same!

My pleasure. I tend to always read people's blogs but am a bit shy to comment sometimes. I think I might just start making a habit out of it though!

  8. I'm not very good at commenting on the blogs I read, either, to be honest! I'm trying, though -at least with those that I really draw a personal connection with. It's fun to sort of have that "relationship" and interactions with the ladies I admire and draw inspiration from.
