B A K I N G   L A T E L Y

I've been keeping myself very busy in the kitchen lately.

Over the past week I have made raspberry thumbprint cookies, a fig frangipane tart, followed by a mini peach frangipane tart, and now a peach & cardamom pie for a BBQ this evening, which is in the oven right now.

I really do love to bake.

  9. I think we should open a bakery.  Seattle needs a really good one.  It would not have to be a life job, we could just do it while we love it.

  11. Fall baking is the only thing that makes me feel less reluctant to let go of the summertime.

  12. How on earth did you do that cut design on the top of your pie crust? It's beautiful! You never cease to amaze me. Wish I could come eat at your place  :)

  13. Oh thank you! That's a sweet thing to say.

As for the crust, I'm sure anyone can do it! After I roll it out, I (carefully) put it on a big piece of wax paper. I use a knife to cut out the design, and then lay it upside down over the pie and peel away the paper. Easy!
